29 Sep New Political Culture for Renewing the Social Capital > Hertie School of Governance (Berlin – Germany)
As a consequence of the Networked Gipuzkoa project funded by Gipuzkoa Province Council and St Sebastian City Council, I presented an accepted paper at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin, at The Governance of Large-Scale Projects International Symposium that took place on 2nd October 2011.
In the paper, I summarized the urgent request for a new political culture in the Basque Country after a positive turning point happened in favour of violence settling down and towards a permanent peace process. This paper was presented as a dissemination activity into the Networked Gipuzkoa intervention project coordinated academically by Orkestra, Basque Institute of Competitiveness.
#Political #Governance quotation taken Ph.D. candidate Staemmler (that we could apply to #BasqueCity notion):Argues that a narrow conception of the citizen and civil society will lead to government policies that can harm civil engagement and the city. Instead, conceptual broadness allows for a variety of means which will foster civil engagement better in different contexts.
