Prof. Igor Calzada invites to consider submitting their work to the ongoing Special Issue of the Springer Nature journal Discover Cities, titled:

This Special Issue explores the societal, institutional, and territorial dimensions of Artificial Intelligence in urban contexts, with a particular emphasis on inclusion, digital rights, and sustainability. It welcomes interdisciplinary and critical contributions that engage with:

  • Digital inclusion policies at the municipal or regional level
  • Algorithmic bias and ethical considerations in Urban AI
  • Place-based responses to the digital divide and data governance
  • Participatory and rights-based approaches to AI in cities
  • Comparative case studies on AI adoption across urban environments

Prof. Calzada, as guest editor, encourages colleagues working at the intersection of urban policy, digital transformation, and social innovation to get in touch with expressions of interest. He is available to provide guidance on how to align contributions with the aims of the Special Issue.
